Maintenance and detective work have a lot in common
Jakob Rosengren thought he'd end up in car manufacturing, but then took up studies to become a maintenance technician, specialized in electricity and automation. “My final internship was at Wellspect,” he tells us, “and here I remained!
Jakob works daytime in a team of 30 colleagues, together with another 25 colleagues doing 5 shifts spread over 5 weeks. “I find it quite exciting to go to work and check the status of my machine,” he admits. “I have a lot on my plate, including long-term projects, such as planning for preventive maintenance and reduced scrapping. But my main responsibility is to safeguard the machine’s technical availability.”
Jakob tells us that he enjoys the relaxed atmosphere, but he also appreciates the orderly work environment, as manufacturing takes place in clean rooms. “It’s great to be trusted with responsibility and to know the company cares about its employees just as much as its product users," he concludes.
